Garron and Abby Combs

Thankful…. Uh… What day is it?

I am not too good at remembering to post my weekly post. Thankful Thursday is becoming Thankful to even remember that I have a blog… Sorry! I will try harder this week to post on Thursday. But this last week I do have an excuse. I was a mother of 5!

Garron and I went to Salt Lake this weekend to help watch our good friend (my best friend) Kari’s kids. She has 5 kids. One-boy age 15 and four girls ages 13, 11, 8, and 6. We really are close to this family and I have watched the kids before (all by myself). So Kari asked the two of us to come up and watch the kids for four days. We said we would love to. I will post later with details of our trip.

  1. Reliable Car- Both of our cars are currently not registered. It has been a pain to try and get them registered so when it came time to go out of town we were a little unsure of what car to take. Garron talked to his dad and his dad let us use the Saturn. The Saturn Ion is Michael’s old car and Garron’s parents are going to keep it for the next two years. So while they were going to California for the weekend we used the Saturn. It is a great car with plenty of room and it got us up and back from Utah with ease. Thanks dad!
  2. Talents- Lately I have thought about what talents I have or hobbies that I enjoy doing. It’s hard to have a lot of hobbies when you work a 40-hour week. Once I am home I want to go right to bed. But while we were in Utah, I made dinner a couple of times for the kids. I realized that I really do love to cook. I have always known that I have a love of cooking but I haven’t cooked in a while because its just cheaper going out to eat with Garron and I. So being able to cook and feed a bunch of people really came as a blessing this weekend. I need to take more time to develop more talents as they really do help other people.
  3. Hot Water- One thing that I looked forward to every morning while watching the kids was getting them off to school and then, taking a long hot shower. It was my 30-minutes of solitude. Not that the kids were all that bad but when they are home its all about them. I definitely loved my long showers followed by a long time to get ready for the day. Before I knew it the kids were home and I was making dinner. It nice to have that brief time where it feels like the world revolves around yourself for once.

Well I really will try to be better at posting on a regular basis. I still have to get the pictures of the wedding up here! Stay tuned!
